I have just figured out how to do my image galleries with all those cool options (circles etc) on my static front page. I have a plug in that enables each image to link to a blog post. What I'm trying to figure out is how to get the images to darken and display the related blog post name right over top (not under as a caption) when the reader mouses over it.

I have been at this for days now and can't figure it out :/

    Example, not my site: http://lisajohnsonphotography.ca/

You would need to have that in your theme's CSS. Does the theme builder offer support because this isn't a WordPress core issue.

What do you mean by the theme builder?

Is there a better section under the support forum where someone might be able to help me?

It's the twenty eleven theme. It came with my blog. I just picked it.

sorry i just enabled right click if you still need it. I just enabled jetpack and it allowed me to have more options for my galleries such as circles etc.

will take a look at your link Andrew, thanks.

Thanks Andrew. I guess I will try to figure out where to put that code in my CSS. somewhat scary ;) I have managed to do a few things but these gallery images are getting complicated in the CSS regard.

Would there be a better spot in the forum to pose this question? Thank you both for your help. I'm really looking for a plugin that will do this as I don't want to mess anything up.

If you're worried about breaking the site then I suggest you hire a good web designer to do the work for you. For the time it's cost you, you might as well pay someone.

Andrew, I meant that maybe there was a more appropriate category since Moghill Pat mentioned this wasn't a wordpress core issue. Thought maybe I was in the wrong spot for this type of question was all.

You could post in the "Plugins and hacks" forums - to just request a plugin that does what you want.
    http://wordpress.org/support/forum/plugins-and-hacks#postform

Or you find a plugin that comes closest to what you want to do and post in their subforum
