    I’m wanting to move from XOOPS to WP, and am currently using a ‘WP module’ that works within XOOPS.

    Whilst searching here on the forums for ‘XOOPS’, I noticed that most of the posts have either been closed or unresolved. I appreciate that WP users may not know much about XOOPS, hence the unresolved posts, however most have been closed.

    So, a current XOOPS user cannot get much support here, unfortunately. 🙁

  • Posts close automatically here. I’m not sure what the timeline is exactly.

    But that is the main reason. The only other reason a post gets closed is for not following the rules. But that is the exception.

    Auto closing posts after a set time period keeps things current. An old discussion may have valuable info, so they aren’t deleted.

    But old discussions use old WP versions, with old plugins, the code has changed, things may not work the same, etc.

    Besides, it isn’t recommended to jump into someone else’s topic. So ideally, if you have a question, you search. Look through everything you can find. If your question isn’t answered, you start a new one.

    It’s 12 months from the last reply, IIRC. And sometimes we close posts earlier if people act the goat 🙂
