• I was alerted that an email never got sent, when I checked Mandrill there was no record of the email, so I dug into the server’s error log and found this error:

    [Tue Feb 23 16:55:47.101338 2016] [proxy_fcgi:error] [pid 6257:tid 140215834302208] [client 122.56.26.24:35886] AH01071: Got error ‘PHP message: wpMandrill Error: Error : \nPHP message: 2016-02-23 03:55:44 wpMandrill::sendEmail: Exception Caught => Invalid API Key\n\nPHP message: \nwpMandrill::wp_mail_native: example@websiteexample.com ([Website] New customer order (7021) – 23 February, 2016)\n\n’, referer: http://www.websiteexample.com/checkout/

    Why would I randomly get an invalid API error when the site has been sending email perfectly fine before this, and after this happening?

    It’s not an isolated issue, after doing some more searching I found the same error a few days later and confirmed that that particular email notification also didn’t get to Mandrill.

    Any ideas?
