More then a dynamic template for category posting

Hi there.
I am trying to add a menu item as page (if you have a better idea pls tell) and when I click on it, I want a intro text and few pictures then like 5 or 10 posts about with a specific category (slug or id) in a style of thumbnail pic, header and 2 lines of text.
I am no coder, so tried plugins. None did fine. Tried to get out of something on Codex page, not really helped. Cause it explains a template for a category. I kinda have lots, so I do not want to fill template style with the same size of categories I use.

Any idea?
