Support » Plugin: SEOPress » More than one automatic schema on the same post type?

“You can create as many schemas as you want for the same post type.”

But what happens if I have more than one schema automatically mapped to one post type? For example “article” and “faq” for “posts”. The “post title” then is mapped to “headline” and to “question”. Which schema is used for the headline of a post? Both?

Of course I could select the structured data type manually for each post to avoid potential conflicting schemas. For mapping automatic schemas, it would help if not only the post type (“post”) but also a category (“article” or “faq”) could be selected.

It doesn’t matter, each schema will work independently.

    Thank you.

If a single post can have two or more schemas, how does Google decide which to choose for displaying as rich snippet in the SERPs? For example if it’s an article or an FAQ?

Google will index all the schema provided on a page. Depending on the user search, a snippet can be enriched by one ore more schemas. For example, you quite often see snippets for recipes with data from both the Recipe schema and the Breadcrumbs schema.

    Thank you for clarifying!
