Support » Plugin: Participants Database » More than 100K _wp_sessions_ in options table

  • Running this wonderful plugin for some years now.
Today I checked one of the sites and it shows more than 100.000 entries of _wp_sessions_ elements in the options table.
I think this should not be the case.
How can I clean the database from ‘old’ session info and how can we prevent this from happening again?
    Thanks!

There will always be a certain amount of session buildup, but most of the ones you have are probably left over from an older version of the plugin. I improved the management of these session records. They do take up some space in your DB storage, but they will not affect site performance because they are not autoloaded.

You can safely delete them with a query like this:

    DELETE FROM wp_options WHERE option_name LIKE "_wp_session_%"
