• In the theme I’m using, there are three columns on the home page which feed in content from three pages and there are more…tags at the bottom that link to the pages. The problem I’m having is that the three columns on the home page show all the content from their linked pages and the more tag (when I added one in the page editor after content) didn’t do anything.

So how can I limit the content fed into the column on the home page and not see it all? Also, is there a way to remove this more tag, somewhere in the “default.css” sheet?

  • Try to add ‘more’ tag (<!–more–> literal) into the page, or you can try an auto-excerpt plugin. Using ‘more’ tag is more flexible since we can place it anywhere we want. But if this is tedious because you have to update a lot of post, try an auto excerpt plugin.

Did you place the More… tag in the post where you want the text to stop?

    For example…

Mary had a little lamb, it’s fleece was white as snow.

If I only want to display “Mary had a little Read More…”

Then I would place the more tag like this.

Mary had a little<–more–> lamb, it’s fleece was white as snow.
