BTW, when I click over to the Text tab, the tag looks like this:

    <!–more–>

what theme are you working with?

What theme are you using? Where did you download it from?

    I’m using 2014.

Can you post a link to a publically accessible page that demonstrates this issue? The more tag seems to be working for everyone else when using the 2014 theme.

Sure, here’s the page on my site:

    http://goo.gl/T16rgM

Is this sufficient? What else can I send to you that won’t cede full control of my site to the public?

your link is to a single post where by default the ‘read more’ tag does not have effect; the ‘read more’ will only have effect on index pages or archive pages.

for example, if you go to the ‘blog’ page, you can see that the post is cut-off properly at the ‘read more’ position.

That’s it! So it does work. And very strange that you’re not able to see it in preview or single post mode.

    Thanks!

So… If I have a static home page, and I want a “read more” on that page, how do I set that up?
