Support » Plugin: Moon Phase Widget » Moon phase not always correct [updated]

  • Update: After posting review below, the issue was addressed (see comment); so I’ve updated my rating. Definitely a nice widget.

This moon phase widget seems to pull its data from the following web site: https://dianagarland.com/wdget_moon_phase/

Unfortunately that web site says it uses the WP-Super-Cache website. As a result, if the moon phase page got generated a few days ago and then cached the widgets that use this information will also display old information on the moon phase.

It is a nice widget but given primary purpose is to show moon phase; giving a rating of 2 because of the stale data.

    Oh wow, that’s embarrassing.

Thank-you so much, this might have taken me forever to figure out, since the development server I use doesn’t have caching enabled, but the production server does, as you’ve identified.

I’ve fixed the caching issue – and I’ve added a date stamp (if people don’t like this, I’ll remove it).

Now that it’s fixed, if you’re willing to alter your rating, that would really help me out.

Sorry for the inconvenience, and thanks again.
