'month and name' permalinks cause "default" page instead of shop home page

  • I wanted to change the urls of my website pages from the likes of http://www.love-yourself-naturally.com/?page_id=593 to something like love-yourself-naturally.com/shop, so I’ve changed the permalink setting from “default” to “month and name”, but it doesn’t seem to have worked properly. Now, when I click on the ‘shop’ link (I have a jigoshop plugin), it has the url I want, but it’s not the shop page, it’s a sort of default page. All the other pages have worked, the links work and they have the sort of urls I want, so why would it be different for the ‘shop’ page? I just tried switching the permalinks back to default and… the shop page works again! I changed it back to ‘month and name’ and the shop page doesn’t work again. Confusing!

  • Have you tried custom structure and add /%postname%/

I’ve just tried that (I think!) and the same thing happens… all other pages are fine, it’s just the shop home page that goes to a sort of default page.
