Yes, a self-hosted WordPress.ORG site is totally flexible – you can do whatever you want with it (subject to any restrictions your hosting company might have).

ok thank you, would you recomend any web hosting sites? Obviously there are many ver good to low end, are sites like host gator and go daddy sufficient ?

Generally, you get what you pay for, so low-end hosting is likely to be problematic. I’d suggest you do some research as to hosting that will best meet your needs – it really depends on what kind of site you are planning to create and how much traffic you have.
