[resolved] Modifying the Jetpack Blog Subscriptions sidebar widget? (5 posts)

    Hi, I'd like to use the Jetpack Blog Subscriptions sidebar widget, but it takes up a lot of space in the side bar with the large "subscribe" button and large gap between the email field and the button.

    I'd like to make the button smaller and place it at the right edge of the email field (i.e. make the email field shorter and place a smaller "subscribe button" adjacent to the right edge of the email field). I am just starting to learn how to use wordpress and don't know much about CSS. Is there an easy code that would make the above modifications that I could paste somewhere? And if so, exactly where would I paste it?

    Thanks so much for any help!

    - the website I'm putting together is savvyveggie.com (there's not much there yet)

    You can indeed customize the look of your website with some CSS. You can add CSS to your theme stylesheet, or to the custom CSS editor available under Appearance > Edit CS S in your dashboard.

    Try adding the following code to customize the blog subscription widget:

    .jetpack_subscription_widget {
    	margin-bottom: 75px;
    .jetpack_subscription_widget input[type="text"] {
    	float: left;
    	margin-bottom: 0px;
    	width: 55% !important;
    	height: 40px;
    .jetpack_subscription_widget input[type="submit"] {
    	float: right;
    	width: 40%;

    If you're not familiar with CSS, you can follow these tutorials:

    If you still do not feel comfortable making such changes on your own, you can hire WordPress specialists here:

    I hope this helps.

    I wondered if you could let me know how I minimise the spacing in the Jetpack Subscription box which I have on my About page. I'm happy with the widget size in my sidebar, it's just the spacing/size is different when using it within a post/page

    Thank you

    @foodiesagenda Could you please start your own thread, as per the Forum Welcome?

    You'll also want to let me know your site URL so I can take a look at the subscription box on your site.

    Thank you!
