Support » Fixing WordPress » Modify the permalink before/after the post is stored

  • Howdy,
is there a way to modify/change the permalink, programmatically, overriding default template?

I have some customized automated posts, would like to change the permalink just before/after insertion.

    Thanks

  • you can always edit the post after publishing and above the editor you can edit the permalinks

Sorry, but it must be done programmatically.

Digging the Internet it shows that among WordPress’ functions & programmability, this has been left out to enforce permalink’s template conformance.

Obviously somewhere in WP php files there must be somwhere the code to do so; but I just wanted to do it in a clean way, using a “high level” call to some function to do so.

    Any hint?
