Modify Registration Page

    How can I add more fields to the basic registration page? I am not using any plugins for registration.

    I was researching more into this problem and didn’t find any plugins that would suit my needs. Does anyone know where the best place is to modify the registration page? There isn’t anything in the user manual for wordpress that adequately explains this from what I can see.

    Is there any documentation for WordPress that shows where to modify the registration page at? I have searched through the html code and haven’t come up with any answers for this. I was really hoping someone here could shed some light on the situation, but perhaps WordPress is old and outdated and needs to be thrown away for something newer, more user friendly, and easier to use.
