 * I am using version 4.2.15 of iThemes Security. I have mod_deflate and mod_expires
   commands I want to add to my .htaccess file.
 * I download the .htaccess file from the server, modify the file and then ftp it
   back to the server. When I try to go to my site it gives me a 500 error. When
   I put the old .htaccess file back everything works fine. These commands work
   on all my other websites, same server, same version of wordpress, they just do
   NOT have iThemes Security installed.
 * How can I add the commands into my .htaccess file without the 500 error?
 * Thank You.

 * Hey Gyarnold,
 * iThemes Security has been tested with both mods and has no impact on either one.
   I’m afraid you issue lies elsewhere.
 * Thanks,

 * Hi Gerroald,
 * Maybe you can help me then. The issue does not happen if the iThemes Security
   plugin is deleted. Maybe I am not putting the mod_deflate and mod_expires commands
   in the proper place of the .htaccess file after the IThemes security plugin is
   activated. I have tried putting in the statements before the iThemes Security
   statements in the .htaccess file and I have also put them in WordPress part of
   the .htaccess file. Both cause the 500 error. Where do you suggest putting the
   statements in the .htaccess file?
