# Modify Header (add features)

 * How can I modify the header area? I need to add some features/html/text below
   navigation? Unfortunately it appears that you are using ttfmake_maybe_show_site_region(‘
   header’ ) in the header.php, and I want to make my changes upgrade safe in the
   child theme that I am using. Any suggestions? Right now I just want to add some
   text and will probably create custom sidebar for that and then place a text widget
   below the navigation, but I have no way to add a new sidebar to the header right
   now. Right now my logo is aligned to the left and the navigation to the right,
   but because of the size of the logo, i have a lot of empty space below the navigation.

 * Hi there!
 * You’ll need to edit the header files in the `partials` folder. The file you use
   depends on the header layout you’ve picked in the Customizer Layout settings.
 * In the child theme, recreate the `partials` folder and copy over the header files
   you want to alter. 🙂
