# MODIFY DEFAULT WORDPRESS SEARCH

 * Hi,
 * I have searched for this but I can’t find a query/solution similar to this one…
 * All I want to do is remove the words ‘Search for:’ which appears before the search
   box. On the theme I’m using this pushes the search button onto a second line,
   so if I remove this it should all fit on one line. I’ve tried to find a page 
   with relevant code etc.

 * do you know where your search comes from?
 * As in….is that in your sidebar.php? either hardcoded, or some call to searchform.
   php?
 * or is it a widget you have in your sidebar?

 * RVoodoo: The search I’m using is just the default WP widget in the left-hand 
   menu/sidebar space… Does this help?
