# Modify Custom Post Type

 * Hi there guys!
 * I am using this plugin [Total Poll Pro](https://codecanyon.net/item/totalpoll-pro-responsive-wordpress-poll-plugin/7647147?s_rank=1)
   from Codecanyon.net
    This plugin lets us create a poll and insert this poll into
   a post with a shortcode. But it would be far better to use the custom post type“
   Polls” for my polls instead. The only problem is that the “Polls” cpt does **
   NOT** support Categories and Tags.
 * Is there a way (plugin) to add Categories and Tags to an **existing Custom Post
   Type** ?
    I dont want to mess with the plugin’s code as its regularly updating.
 * Unfortunately i am no developer and have no knowledge of coding.
 * Hope somebody can help me out here! Thx

 * You should be able to add categories and tags to custom post types with the Pods
   plugin ([http://pods.io/](http://pods.io/)). Its available from the WP plugin
   directory.

 * Thanks for the suggestion but unfortunately that didn’t work for me.
    I can choose
   to add a new Pod or extend an existing CPT. When i choose to extend an exisiting,
   the “Polls” cpt doesn’t show up, maybe because its generated by a plugin. But
   when i create a new Pod and also name it “Polls” i can add Categories and Tags.
   It does show up when creating a new Poll in the backend, but nowhere to be found
   on the frontend…

 * Hello again,
 * I just checked out the demo for the plugin and it seems that it indeed use a 
   custom post type, so it should in theory work with Pods. But I have never used
   the plugin myself so cant say anything for sure. You should check out the support
   forum for the developer og the plugin and maybe post your question there.
