Modal Dialog dead after upgrade

    I can no longer test this plugin. Seems to be dead. I have “Number of times to display modal dialog” set to 100 but it never shows up. I delete cookies, nothing. Beyond frustrating as this is the only pop-up window that really has decent features, but it doesn’t seem to be stable or reliable.

    Hi Peter,

    Was Modal Dialog the only plugin / theme that you updated on your site?

    Could you give me the site address so I can take a look and see if I can determine why this is not showing up?

    Can’t say when/what about other plugins… Too many to keep track of. Theme hasn’t updated.

    You are currently getting a javascript error in your page’s footer that is breaking all javascript on the site. It is on the line:

    document.getElementById(‘recaptcha-submit-btn-area’).appendChild (sub);

    There is apparently no div or object on the page with the id: recaptcha-submit-btn-area.

    Perhaps you had a captcha before and removed it but forgot to remove this code from your theme footer?

    don’t think that’s it. Disabled the recaptcha plugin and the modal window still doesn’t show up.

    deleted cookies both within the modal plugin and my browser… nada.

    All right. The next thing that I am suspecting is that the blocks of check that check if jQuery is loaded and try to load their own version from the googleapi site are not recognizing the version of jQuery that is currently loaded by Modal Dialog towards the top of the page and try to load their own, messing up all of the jQuery setup that has been done up to that point.
