At first, I wasn’t able to replicate the bug, but looking more into it, it seems to be a bug with PHP, not with the plugin or WordPress.

I tried to find some images with incorrect metadata, and found one here
    https://github.com/gino0631/nextcloud-metadata/issues/19

I was able to replicate the bug, and even with the latest version of PHP I’m using, i.e PHP 7.3.2, the bug is still there.

Will keep you updated here, if any new version of PHP corrects this bug.

Since there is nothing I can do about it, I’m marking this issue as resolved.

The only thing that could have been done is suppressing that warning by adding “@” before the function call, but it will also prevent any warning or error messages for that line when some actual issue arises, so cannot do that.
