I mocked up a site for my department at school, since they lack an internal website for the students and professors in the dept.
What it's got:
Coppermine photo gallery
WebCalendar (click Events link, under the calendar)
WP and Coppermine are linked together, and the phpBB and Coppermine have a shared user database -- if you login to one, you're logged into both. Groups are shared, etc...
The department is going to evaluate it, and if they like it, then I'll move it over to an internal server there. The point is for it to be pretty simple.
The idea is for the department manager/secretary to be able to easily post and update news, without knowledge of HTML, etc... Maybe manage events on the calendar, too. Professors and students can post photos to the gallery after they've been in the field.
The only thing I haven't done that I want to do is to have an iFrame on the page that pulls all events from the next 30 days on the event calendar to the main page. I had it working, but didn't like the look of it, and still haven't decided on an aesthetic.
I think the front page validates XHTML, but there's a small CSS error that I need to fix before that validates. The gallery/calendar/forum = no validation now.
What do you think? (The forum is a little too red for my taste)
