[Resolved] Mobile Theme Reverts Back to Default Settings

  • I have a weird problem. I make all the necessary changes to my mobile theme and then reactive the main theme. When I test out the site in mobile format using ?theme=tablet for example… My mobile theme shows up with the default settings. I’m seeing the default widgets and the wrong nav menu, etc.

Any idea why that is? I’ve saved all my settings before the switch to the main theme so what else could it be? Thanks

It would be really nice if the plugin worked that way! But, due to some core things in WordPress, WP doesn’t save settings per theme like that.

If you want a widget or nav menu to display in both themes, or in just one of the themes, that register widget/nav menu function must be in both themes.

You can read more here: http://wordpress.org/plugins/device-theme-switcher/faq/ under ‘How do Menus and Widgets work?!’ and of course, post back here if you have questions.
