Mobile sub menu selections cause distortion(somtimes)
-
On the indicated site, if I set Page Cache Enable (Whatever I choose for the cache method), some of the mobile submenu selections end up with distortion.
The desktop works always fine.
Would the Pro version solve the problem?
Any other idea?
Thx

Hello @triplebit
I’ve checked your website on both desktop and mobile and I am not seeing any issues. Can you please share a screenshot of the issue you are experiencing? Also, is the Page cache currently enabled?
In Performance>User Agent Groups, you can create a group of user agents by specifying names in the user agents field. Assign a set of user agents to use a specific theme, redirect them to another domain, or if an existing mobile plugin is active, create user agent groups to ensure that a unique cache is created for each user agent group. Drag and drop groups into order (if needed) to determine their priority (top -> down).
Thanks!Dear Mr. Vasiljevic
I’ll try to follow your advice and inform you later.

I. LesherHello @triplebit
Thank you and please let us know if the issue is resolved.
Thanks!Dear Mr. Vasiljevic
Unfortunately its not resolved.
I’ve created a mirror site of the original one in the following URL:
https://makor-hamix.zur4win.com/product-category/burds/toys/
Its also indicate the actual URL where the phenomena happens.
In this site the Page Cache is enabled.
If you navigate to this URL with mobile you would encounter an empty display…
Since its in Hebrew and in order to make it easy, I attach a screenshot of the menu in mobile in the following URL so you can follow the right place on mobile menu:

Thank you for the information.
Does this happens only on the provided page? I’ve checked other pages and I am not seeing the issue.
Are you using any other caching/ minify solution? Can you please try to exclude the page from the cache in Perofmrnace>Page Cache>Advanced>”Never cache following Pages” field and add:
/toys/
Make sure to save all settings and purge the cache.
Thanks!Does this happens only on the provided page? I’ve checked other pages and I am not seeing the issue.
It happens randomly on single pages
Are you using any other caching/ minify solution?
No. only W3TC
Can you please try to exclude the page from the cache in Perofmrnace>Page Cache>Advanced>”Never cache following Pages” field and add:
/toys/

Problem is that after purge it happens randomly elsewhere but I’v done it anyhow
I’ll inform you whether it happens again in other pages

I. LesherHello @triplebit
Thank you for the info. If the issue re-occurs please, temporarily disable other plugins, leaving W3 Total Cache enabled and see if there is a possible conflict.
If the issue is gone, enable the plugins one by one and see which plugin may be causing the conflict.
Thanks!Dear Mr. Vasiljevic,
I haven’t yet solved it and I want to focus on using a separate desktop and mobile caches.
Can you please direct how to do it(without the extra explanations on other features of “User Agent Groups”)?
I use W3TC Version 0.13.1

I. LesherHello @triplebit
Thank you for the information.
The user AGent Groups feature is the one that you should use so that a unique cache is created for each user agent group, in your case mobile.
So to use User Agent Groups, go to Performance>User Agent Groups and enable the first group (it should have the user agents defined and you can also add more). Check the Enable box. If you are using some mobile plugins, you should leave the Theme section on Pass-through and add the redirection to Redirect Users to field.
If you are not using any Mobile plugins, you should select the theme you are currently using from the dropdown theme menu, save all settings and purge the cache.
Please check the screenshot.
I would also recommend updating the plugin to the latest 0.14.3 version with some new features and bug fixes.
I hope this helps.
Thanks!Dear Mr. Vasiljevic,
Thx. I tried to follow you advise but still something is missing..
I use one plugin that is active only on mobile and I don’t understand what should I fill in the redirection field. There is no other domain/host for any user. They all use the same server.
Can you tell me please?
Thx
I. LesherHello @triplebit
Are you using mobile plugin for serving the mobile version of your website or is this some other type of mobile plugin?
Thanks!Dear Mr. Vasiljevic,
in short, its some other type. I use the same plugin in both versions, desktop and mobile. Since the plugin causes me problems in desktop and besides I don’t need its functionality in desktop, I manually(by modify the main plugin php file) disable its load upon desktop startup (of caurse its activated for all versions).
I hope my explanation helps
