mobile responsive view – broken Menu

Hello, I am new to this stuff so bare with me a little bit please. I am trying to figure out why certain aspects of the sites structure are out of place. For example, the arrows that (directional icons) are off and out of alignment when i am in the editor on wordpress (from a large display).

When i visit the site on my cellular phone, as well as on my tablet i notice the navigation menu items are stacked on top of each other in an unorganized arrangement.

Other aspects that are messed up include the alignment of the buddy press registration field when viewing in mobile version.

I created a child theme but am unsure if that could be my issue? I appreciate your help and assistance in trying to resolve this. Thank you so very much.
