  • Hi, thanks for the free heme Hueman, a great work. I have a short question: the mobile navigation shows from first view, all sub-items. a very long list in my project. Is there a way to show the sub-items only when the User Tap the first-level-navigation? I am thankful for every hint. Thanx and cheers, Mathes

  • Hi sayhellostranger. You should be able to change it to a “hover”, which equates to a “tap”, in mobile view by using this CSS in a child theme style.css file or a plugin like https://wordpress.org/plugins/simple-css/ or https://wordpress.org/plugins/custom-css-js/:

    /* default submenus to hidden in mobile view */
    @media only screen and (max-width: 719px) {
      .nav ul {
        display: none !important;
      }
    }
    /* display submenus on tap in mobile view */
    @media only screen and (max-width: 719px) {
      .nav li.menu-item-has-children:hover ul {
        display: block !important;
      }
    }

    Normally I wouldn’t advocate using the !important rule but in this case it’s needed to override the default theme CSS which also uses !important.
