I am having an issue with the mobile menu. I noticed my wp_footer wasn’t putting my maxmegamenu.js into the page, so I added that script myself and got it working. But now my desktop menu dropdown is not working. I noticed that a bunch of errors shows up the maxmegamenu.js in the console when the page is loaded on desktop. I am stumped on what to do.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi creativejuicesweb,

Does your footer.php file have a call to wp_footer() in it? If not, please add it back in and that should get the scripts correctly outputted.

    Hi Tom,

Thanks for the response! Yes the wp_footer() is in the footer, but it doesn’t seem to be loading all the scripts. Other themes it works fine, not sure whats going on with this theme. I can get it working if I just put the js scripts for the menu right into the footer.php, but I am not sure if its proper to do that.

If you have any suggestions of why this would happen let me know. I am not a pro in coding.

    Hi creativejuicesweb,

I think there must be a problem with the theme somewhere. Can you zip it and share it on somewhere like wetransfer.com and post a link to it here? I will need to check the source code.

The JS that MMM outputs is dynamic in places, so it isn’t really possible to copy and paste the includes.

    Tom

    Hi Tom,

Yeah that seems to be the case.

Here is the google drive link for the theme.

Let me know if you need anything else.

Thanks for your help with this.

    Hi Ben,

Thanks. It is because you’re deregistering jQuery on line 47 of your functions.php file. If you deregister the core version (which I advise against!) you must reregister your own version.

    Hi Tom,

Thanks for the information, yeah who ever created this theme didn’t make it very friendly to add plugins and that.

I tried to delete that re_header_scripts function but it didn’t seem to do anything. Is this a simple fix or am I missing something?

    Thanks

    Hi Tom,

Thanks I got the navigation working, which it broke the slider. I think it was a jquery conflicting, but I found a work around, so its fixed.

I really thank you for taking the time to look at this!

    Have a great day.

    Thanks

    Hi creativejuicesweb,

Thanks for leaving a review 🙂

I can see there are still errors on your site, I think maybe because it is loading 2 copies of jQuery – one from the google CDN (v2.1.1) and one from core WordPress (v3.5.1 – the correct one). I think you need to remove the google one, and make sure the loading order in the page source is:

    core jQuery
then the rest of the theme scripts

    Hi Tom,

You’re welcome! You have helped out alot.

In my header.php it has this script
    <script type=”text/javascript” src=”https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/2.1.1/jquery.min.js”></script&gt;

Is this the one you referring to? I did test it and took it out but it broke all the jquery.

In the console I see some errors but it looks like it errors for google maps api. These were something that was showing up before we started work on this. Were those the errors you are seeing? Let me know.

    Thanks!
    Have a great weekend.

    Ben
