• Hello,

I have problem that keeps following me every time I create a new site:
I open the site on my mobile phone.
I open the mobile menu by clicking the hamburger icon.
I select a menu link that takes me to another page on my site.
I return to the previous page by using my phone’s “back arrow”.
The mobile menu has not collapsed, but stays open, thus blocking a lot of content.

I’ve used three different themes: Twenty-Twenty-One, Twenty-Twenty-Seventeen and Astra. I’ve seen the problem both on localhost and two different live sites, both of them hosted on completely different servers.
Disabling all plugins doesn’t make a difference.
    WordPress version doesn’t make difference.
Astra support noticed the same problem as they visited my site, but as it’s not tied to their theme, they couldn’t help. I’ve noticed the same problem on three different mobile phones.

I saw an ancient post on StackOverflow about adding some custom JS, but I’m not proficient enough to try it.
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

    -Sami

  • I just tested your site, and the hamburger menu opens and closes. When I used the phone’s “Back” button to go back, I don’t see the menu open: it remains closed. Kindly see a screen recording below.

I tested with Chrome and Brave browsers on 3 different phones all running Android 11. I don’t have an iOS device to test.

    Hello,

and thank you for doing those tests. It is good to see that it’s working correctly with those devices. I’ll keep this open for a while to see if anyone has had similar problems.
