    I have an ASUS ME173X (UA string ; “Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; Android 4.2.2; ME173X Build/JDQ39) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/42.0.2311.108 Safari/537.36” ) Its a 7 inch tablet with a 1280 x 800 display

which for some reason the JetPack mobile module doesn’t recognise as a mobile device.

This wouldn’t be a problem but WP Super Cache recognises it as a tablet and creates a mobile cache file but it contains the regular output rather than the JetPack mobile output.

As my phone (UA ; “Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; Android 5.0.1; HTC One_M8 Build/LRX22C) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/42.0.2311.108 Mobile Safari/537.36” ) works I’m wondering if its the fact that the ME173X reports itself as Safari and not Mobile Safari.

Hmm, it should be picking it us as a mobile device. Any UA with “Android” should get picked up (with a secondary check to determine tablet or phone, and we should probably look into this more as Android TVs are out, but I digress).

What is your site’s URL? To confirm, the intent is to display the Mobile Theme on Android devices, right?

    Cheers!

Hi Brandon – I don’t think it is, but WP Super Cache thought it was a mobile device which was causing all sorts of problems. I dug round through the Jetpack code and Jetpack sees the tablet as a non-mobile device which is fine. It sees my HTC One M8 as a mobile device and delivers the mobile style output.

I reset WP Supercache and then put the settings back including telling it that I was using Jetpack mobile theme and now its all working correctly as far as I can tell. Jetpack is delivering the regular theme for the ASUS (As it was before9 and the cache is storing it as the regular page cache rather than the mobile page cache.

So it now seems to be working OK……

I followed. Let me know if things act funky again.

    Cheers!
