Mobile device style not working (15 posts)

    Hi there, on a new site of mine here when I view it on my iphone the site isn't working properly. I'm guessing my child theme stylesheet isn't right.

    Basically what is happening is the content area is less than half the screen width (on the left) on a mobile device.

    Any ideas what I'm doing wrong please?

    Try deactivating all plugins to explore whether any could be responsible.

    Try reinstalling the parent theme - I commented out your Child Theme CSS modifications and the issue persisted.

    Could you create a DiffChecker page (select from the "Don't store diff" dropdown and select "store forever") of the original header.php code and your header.php code as comparison?

    Interesting tool thanks for that, it changes on line 36 of header.php.... but problem is I"m not sure what to do from here once I've identified the differences!

    I chose store for 1 day with this link...

    Can you check if the JS that functions the navigation is finding your menu http://themes.svn.wordpress.org/twentytwelve/1.3/js/navigation.js ?

    How do I do that?

    Maybe I got this thread mixed up at the time, it looks like I thought you had a JS issue with the mobile menu. I've checked now and you have no such issue.

    To clarify, could you re-explain your issue?

    Sure, this site of mine isn't working properly on a mobile device. Basically what is happening is this:

    1. When I load it up on my iphone the first page is fine, as in this screenshot...
    2. When I tap the menu to go to another page, the content is shrunk, as in this screenshot...

    I'm unsure how to fix this, I'm guessing that the mobile @media CSS is causing it but have no experience in using CSS to style for a mobile device.

    Does this make sense?

    Yeah it looks like that's just because your menu is really long - originating from this style in your Child Theme style.css file:

    .main-navigation ul ul {
    width: 900px;
    }
