# Missing The Network Admin link from dropdown

 * Hi all,
 * I have been asked to set-up a multi-site install of Word Press at work for the
   different parts of our company to have there own blog
 * Now i have followed the tutorials to create a multi site install one i have done
   this i have a slight problem,
 * When Went to Tools->Network settings i got told to create the folder blogs.dir
   and add wp-config.php into that folder and past the code i did that and i created
   the .htaccess file required
 * I then loged out and back in Click the Tool->Network Settings and i get a Warning
 * > Warning: An existing WordPress network was detected.
 * But no more configuration options appear it just tells me to create the files
   again and there is no network admin link on the drop down menu when i click “
   Howdy, admin”
 * What am i doing wrong?

 * It sounds like you havn’t fully created the wp-config.php correctly to me.
 * Double check that you’ve inserted the new defines before the final stop editing
   comment as a start

 * new defines?
 * I only have the on in the default (root dir) `define('WP_ALLOW_MULTISITE', true)`
 * then inside wp-content i created blogs.dir and created wp-config.php as the config
   say’s todo.

       define( 'SUBDOMAIN_INSTALL', false );
       $base = '/';
       define( 'DOMAIN_CURRENT_SITE', 'testdomain1.com' );
       define( 'PATH_CURRENT_SITE', '/' );

       define( 'BLOG_ID_CURRENT_SITE', 1 );
       ?>
       ```

 * You’re supposed to edit your wp-config.php file which exists in the root directory,
   and add the new defines (The chunk of code you’ve just pasted) into that existing
   file. Doing it how you’ve done, will result in that situation which you’ve run
   into.

 * You can edit that post to remove the entire config file. But you simply need 
   to replace:
 * `define('WP_ALLOW_MULTISITE', true);`
    with
 *     ```
       define( 'MULTISITE', true );
       define( 'SUBDOMAIN_INSTALL', false );
       $base = '/';
       define( 'DOMAIN_CURRENT_SITE', 'testdomain1.com' );
       define( 'PATH_CURRENT_SITE', '/' );
       define( 'SITE_ID_CURRENT_SITE', 1 );
       define( 'BLOG_ID_CURRENT_SITE', 1 );
       ```
