I am trying to add a slideshow to one of my posts but the “insert slideshow” button mentioned in various tutorials seems to be nonexistent, only a gallery is available. The shortcode isn’t working either.

I’m thinking the issue might be my theme, Custom Community, or just something obvious that I’ve missed somehow…

    Anyone have any advice?

I also use custom community, with a slideshow that also has shortcode and an insert button in the toolbar, what slideshow are you using?

The main-page slide is working fine, it’s getting a slideshow into a post that seems to be the problem. I tried to follow the instructions on these tutorials exactly:

But I’m not seeing the “insert slideshow” button, just “insert gallery.”

You’re looking for a WordPress.COM feature that does not exist in WordPress.ORG.

WordPress.COM and a self-hosted WordPress.ORG software installation are different and not all the add-ons at .COM have been brought into the .ORG version. There may be a plugin for that but I’m not aware of which one it could be.

See this article for an explanation of the differences. and

    oh, thanks!
