Hi, I have set my Static Front Page as a Homepage template and it works fine. I have also customized and added widgets under the Sidebar, which shows up on all my other pages except the Home page. I would like the sidebar widgets to show up on the Home page. Could you advise what I’m doing wrong? If it’s of any relevance, I am using the MH Magazine lite Theme, not Premium.

    Hi,

thanks for using MH Magazine lite.

When you’ve set a static front page with the Homepage template, then the widget areas on that page are the Home widget areas. These aren’t related to the regular sidebar on other posts and pages.

You can learn more about the widget areas in the theme documentation.

Thank you for your prompt reply! I now understand that I have to add widgets under Home 12 and not Sidebar. But this is only available in the Premium version. Is there any way I can add widgets on the sidebar on the Homepage in Lite?

It seems there is a misunderstanding. Please have a look at the available widget areas in your theme (Home 1Home 6). You could use the Home 6 widget area. In the documentation there is a graphic which shows exactly the location of the particular widget areas.

I somehow only have widget areas Home 1 – Home 5. Is this because I’m using MH Magazine lite version 1.8.6.? If I update to the latest version, will this affect the appearance of my website?

It seems you’re using an extremely old and outdated version. The latest version is v2.7.2. If you haven’t modified code, then updating shouldn’t have negative effects. However, of course we can’t guarantee that since we don’t have any insights regarding your website and you’re using a 2 year old version of the theme.
