Support » Fixing WordPress » Missing plus ( ) signs on Write Post page

  • On the Write Post page, it’s possible to set several options (Discussion, Password-Protect, Catgories, etc.) by opening the option areas over on the right of the page. These have the option category name against a blue background with a +/- (plus or minus sign) at the right to say whether to open or close the option details.

My problem is that on two clean installations of 2.0.6, the +/- is not showing up. If I hover my mouse at the right end of the blue bar, I can open/close the option areas. But I’d rather not try to explain that to my users.

On two installations that I upgraded to 2.0.6, it’s working fine.

[resolved] Categories and AJAX admin boxes help
WP 2.0 upgraded but can’t assign categories, page order, etc.

I gather that this is implemented with Ajax and may be caused by image corruption.

Can anyone direct me to what images should be reinstalled or give other advice on how to resolve this.

  • Nevermind. The plus/minus signs are back on the clean installs.

I’ll monitor it for awhile before marking this “resolved” …

+’s disappeared again on an installation I’ve upgraded to 2.0.7

Check to make sure that you have no adblocking software in your browser interfering with your page.

Nope. Ad blocking is off. Firefox Maybe an upgrade to 2.0 is in order.

Aside from the +/- disappearing intermittently, I’ve noticed that the link button (and *just* the link button, not the bold, unlink or other buttons) sometimes disappears from the Write Post visual editor toolbar.
