# Missing Lists?

 * Hi there!
 * I’m configuring this plugin for a client, and everything seems to be working
   fine until it’s time to select the list to use for the widget form.
 * First, the drop-down only loads 100 lists (of 163), and it loads them in reverse
   alphabetical order – Z to A. This wouldn’t be a problem except that the list
   they want to use is of course at the far end of the alphabet.
 * Any ideas what’s happening here and how to resolve?
 * Site is still under development so no link, but the issue seems to be on the
   admin side anyway. The widget itself appears to load on the front side without
   issue (albeit with a different list selected).

 * Hey there,
 * Sorry to hear about the issues you’re seeing. Any chance you would be able to
   provide me with a link to the MailChimp-hosted form for the account you’re working
   in? This will allow me to take a look at the account on my end and try to replicate
   the behavior you’re seeing. If you’re not comfortable posting the link here,
   feel free to email it to me at mailchimptk[at]gmail.com.
 * If there does seem to be an issue where the number of lists is being capped,
   I’d be happy to pass that along to our developers to take a look and also would
   be happy to help in providing any available workarounds. While not ideal, one
   workaround to consider would be to utilize the embed form code that is included
   with each list in the MailChimp account.
 * Look forward to hearing back.

 * Hi tk, thanks for the response!
 * I believe I’ve set a MailChimp-hosted form for the list here – if this isn’t
   correct please let me know. Forgive me as I’m not too familiar with MailChimp,
   so I’m hacking my way through this a bit.

 * I’ve deduced that it’s a number-of-lists limit because when I change the list
   view to 100 rows, the first page is the exact same group that I see on the plugin
   side (Tri-State to Hawken).

 * Hi tk,
 * Sorry for the bump, but we were wondering if you’d had any luck with this issue?
   We have some time left but would really prefer to get this working sooner rather
   than later. Obbiously we have the workaround as a backup, but would prefer to
   use the plugin itself if possible. Thanks!

 * Hey Jason,
 * Thanks for posting and providing that additional info. In taking a look at the
   MailChimp account and connecting it to a local WP setup on my end, I can confirm
   that I’m seeing the limitation of 100 lists as well. In checking in with our
   developers, there is in fact currently a limit of 100 lists that will be recognized
   by this plugin, though it’s something that we can note for consideration in future
   development of this plugin.
 * In the mean time, there are a few available options. In your reply, you provided
   the eepurl to the hosted form. While one option is in fact to link to the hosted
   form, you also have the option of using the embed code form, which is an actual
   sign up form that can be integrated onto your pages.
 * The caveat is (and this is one of the appeals of the plugin) that the embed form
   code will have to be one with Javascript-disabled (this is so it doesn’t conflict
   with the WordPress environment. Inside of your MailChimp account, each of your
   lists has a few embed code forms provided along with it. The Super Slim, Classic
   Form (w/ JS-disabled), and Naked Form are all options that do not use Javascript
   to submit the form, so those should work.
 * To access your embed code forms, you’ll want to login to your MailChimp account,
   go to the Lists tab, click the arrow selector beside the list in question and
   click Signup Forms, then click “Embedded Forms”. If you’re having trouble locating
   these options, the best bet would be to reach out to MailChimp support, and they’d
   be able to help with those specifics.
 * As an alternative to the above, you may consider consolidating or deleting lists
   on the account so that the total number of lists goes below 100. For consolidation,
   it may make sense to combine your lists into a collection of single lists that
   utilizes groups. Based on the categories of these lists, this may make sense
   to do. This article elaborates on how to do that:
 * How do I turn multiple lists into one list that uses Groups?: [http://eepurl.com/v4FX](http://eepurl.com/v4FX)
 * This is also something that the MailChimp Support team could help in doing!
 * If you have any additional questions in the mean time, feel free to write us
   back by posting here and we’d be happy to help!

 * Hi tk,
 * Do you have any idea if the 100 list-limit will be a sooner-or-later update to
   the plugin? We’d prefer to use it for client ease-of-use, but if it won’t be
   addressed anytime soon we’ll review these other options and get something implemented.
   Big thanks for taking the time to flesh out so many choices.
 * The client also suggested that we could potentially just change the name of the
   list to something alphabetically lower to push it into that lower 100, but they’re
   not sure if they want to do that.

 * Hey there,
 * I’m afraid that I’m not able to provide a definitive time frame for a resolution
   in regards to the 100 list limit, so the best bet at this time would be to explore
   the alternative solutions.
 * I can definitely understand the desire for ease-of-use! If you’re able to utilize
   manipulating the list names to influence the sort order and eventually see the
   desired lists, that does sound like one method that could work pretty well.
 * Otherwise, I would encourage that the account owners consider clearing up the
   number of lists in the account so that it becomes under 100. While 100 lists
   isn’t necessarily a limit of a MailChimp account, it’s generally discouraged
   and unusual as there’s often a way that the lists can be managed in a much lower
   quantity (i.e. groups) with the same effectiveness. If the account owners are
   interested in the prospect of how to merge lists and also how to maintain any
   organizational needs of the current list layout as they go through the list merging
   process, the best bet would be to reach out to our Support team and they would
   be happy to help! They can be reached at the following link: [http://kb.mailchimp.com/chat](http://kb.mailchimp.com/chat)

 * Hello again,
 * Just wanted to follow up on this issue. While your suggestion of cleaning up
   their lists to below 100 was appreciated, at this time it’s just not feasible
   for them to do so.
 * We instead attempted to have the client rename the list – seemingly our simplest
   solution – and it didn’t work. We’ve since figured out that the plugin is NOT
   pulling the lists in reverse alphabetical order, but rather in order of creation.
   The client happened to have entered their lists from A-Z, so they were by default
   pulling Z-A.
 * So it would seem as if we’re moving to one of the other workaround options –
   UNLESS – there’s a way on the MC side to change the ‘creation date’ of a list.
   Is that possible? I realize this is moving away from plugin support and more
   to general MC questions, but I thought it might be helpful to keep the info in
   this thread.
