# Missing installation file

 * Good afternoon WordPress Community,
 * I’m alexco95 and I’m a new user. I’ve a question related the WordPress software.
 * A few minutes ago, I’ve downloaded the **.zip file WordPress 4.0** on my Desktop,
   but when I’ve opened it, I found different folders containing **.php files**,
   but not the **.exe file** that is required to install a program.
 * Without the .exe installation file, how can I run WordPress 4.0 on my computer?

   and not PC / Mac directly. if you would like to install it on your computer you
   need to install a local web server for your computer. Please read more here

   then how can I install them?
