# Missing images – A caching problem?

 * Hi! I am new to WordPress and trying to sort out a problem with images not always
   loading. I’ve been using Quick Cache, and am hoping it’s part of the solution.
 * I’m using the Amazon Link plugin and it puts a lot of images/links on my pages(
   some are thumbnails of books, some are “buy at Amazon” buttons). But the more
   of these images I have per page, the more likely it is that some won’t be showing.
   I understand this is because Amazon limits the number of requests per page load.
   I also understand that caching can overcome this limit.
 * So I think this might be a caching issue, but I’m new enough to caching that 
   I’m not sure of a solution. Amazon Links has its own caching option, which I’ve
   selected. And I’ve tried several other caching plugins, besides Quick Cache. 
   The more I’m fiddling with things (refreshing cache, trying new caching plugins),
   the worse it seems to be getting.
 * Do I just need to wait until Quick Cache builds up cached files that contain 
   all the missing images? How long should it take to cache my website? Or could
   there be a conflict between Amazon Link’s caching option and other caching plugins?
   I’m feeling pretty lost right now, and I’ve been announcing that my website will
   be launching tomorrow, so…!
 * Here’s one of my pages where the problem is most obvious:

   There should be thumbnails along the right-hand side, but many of them just show
   as “no image available” boxes. Additionally, there should be a “buy at Amazon”
   button after every book listed, but most are currently missing.

 * Okay, I think I found a solution. It involved turning off Quick Cache, then using
   Amazon Link’s own cache option alone, repeatedly refreshing pages until all Amazon
   Link images were stored in that cache. Then I was able to turn Quick Cache back
   on to cache the rest of my pages.
 * What a circus! But at least we’re down to average page load times of 3 to 5 seconds
   again, complete with all images.

 * Hello,
 * I’m glad to hear you resolved this issue. It sounds like the core problem is 
   the fact that Amazon limits the number of requests you can make in one go, so
   the Amazon Link plugin is forced to do things in “batches”. You might want to
   check with the Amazon Link plugin developer to see if it’s possible to supply
   your own Amazon API Key to increase the number of requests you can make at once.

 * Hi Raam. Thanks for the response. Actually, Amazon Link does allow one to supply
   their own API key, and I’ve had that in place all along. If I understand correctly
   from the Amazon Link developer, however, there is still a limit to how many requests
   Amazon lets you make in one go. So the above work-around seems inevitable as 
   far as I can see.
 * At least it’s still working well! (And I’m still using Quick Cache.)
