After updating to version 1.6.0, the icon in the editor has disappeared. I have two different sites with completely different plugins. I tested your plugin with both sites and I had the same problem.

Now I’m back to version 1.5.0 (attachment) that does not give me problems.

We got rid of the VafPress library we used for our settings and for that icon because it is outdated.

If you use the new Gutenberg block editor you’ll have a block you can easily add. In the Classic Editor you can still add the [custom-related-posts] shortcode by typing it in: https://help.bootstrapped.ventures/article/160-displaying-related-posts

Did you frequently use that icon? I expected that to be something you’d only use once or twice.

I use the icon a lot because I make a custom use of your plugin. I do not use Gutenberg

How are you using it specifically? And what are you adding?
If you just need the defaults then typing [custom-related-posts] might work?

For each post I choose whether or not to use a custom post related

Only some posts will need related articles chosen from time to time. So, I look for the items I want to link, click on the icon (which is no longer there) to indicate the location of the post where to show the correlates. For me it is also important to show them in a specific place and not always in the same part.

I am aware that the shortcode is this [custom-related-posts]. I also personalize the title. However, the icon was useful because it prevented me from typing and having to remember everything by heart.

Thanks for the information. I’ll look into bringing it back. Although long term I’d recommend looking into Gutenberg as well.

Thanks. Can I receive the update privately pending your release?

    Hi again,

I wanted to let you know we just released version 1.6.1 which introduces that TinyMCE button again, albeit in a more rudimentary form. Hope this works for you!
