• I am working for a company and they have an active site and a test site.

The test site is http://tinyurl.com/z7avpcc and the active site is http://tinyurl.com/jpewns6.

The test site is missing the nav and header. A developer at the company said it was something with jquery, either it’s old or has a problem. Not sure if that’s true or not.

This is a list of their Active Plugins, which are Up to Date:

    Akismet
    Contact Form 7
    Duplicate Post
    Duplicator
    Embedly
    Force Regenerate Thumbnails
    IE Enhancer and Modernizer
    Limit Login Attempts
    Slider Revolution
    Velvet Blues Update URLs

Active Plugins – Not Up to Date:

ManageWP – Worker (Version 4.1.33, Version 4.2.2 avail)
Sucuri Security – Auditing, Malware Scanner and Hardening (Version 1.7.17, version 1.8.1 avail)
    UpdraftPlus – Backup/Restore (Version 1.12.13, version 1.12.17 avail)
WPBakery Visual Composer (Version 4.5.3, version 4.12 avail)

I don’t have access to their host, godaddy, so I am careful not to update or turn anything off just yet.

What would be the best way to go about fixing this?

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder and wp-config.php & root .htaccess files – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.

thanks for the suggestions. Here’s what I’ve done:

    – deactivated all plugins.

    – switched to the 2015 theme.

In both cases, it was still the same.

This site was recently created by a (supposedly) professional agency. I’ve since come on board to help, and do not have FTP or PhpMyAdmin access.

I’ve looked in the Editor, all the files are there as well, aren’t they?

I’ve created a copy with Duplicator, and am trying to deploy it on another server, but I am having trouble – staying on it though.

Is there anything else I can do without having FTP or PhpMyAdmin access?

checking out firefox, right click inspect element

It might be a JavaScript problem, since there is <html class=”no-js” which I think is created by modernizer. I have js enabled on Firefox,

There is also an error in “Failure at Presize of Slider:ReferenceError: jQuery is not defined”

I wonder if jQuery is loading first, before all the other library’s that seem to be using jQuery.

Thanks all. I ended up switching the main site to wpengine and everything worked out, as they have their own replicating site feature.
