Hi!
I had a similar problem and solved it by using the Cover Block instead of the featured Image.
WordPress 5.8 will introduce the new Query Block, which will give you much more control on the Layout for Blog Posts.

Hi @thesecondestate,
Thanks for reaching out!
Unfortunately, it isn’t possible to display the featured image for each post in the blog section in the current version of Go.
However, this suggestion will be relayed to our developers, and this feature will definitely be something our team will consider in the future.
@gdalex Thanks so much for your response. Would love to have this functionality!
@bstocker Thanks so much for responding! I’ve tried doing this, but the cover block isn’t appearing in the full list of blogs either ๐
I’ve added a cover block image to this blog post: https://www.thesecondestatepodcast.com/episodes/episode-41-chrissy-teigen-after-dark/
but if you look at the actual blog category page (https://www.thesecondestatepodcast.com/episodes/) the cover block image still isn’t pulling through?
Do you know if I’m doing something wrong? Thanks so much!
Hello @thesecondestate
Thanks for your reply. I think, I’m gonna understanding ypur problem now ๐ Im the “Episodes” Overview, you want the Image always like a Featured Image above the Blog Post Title. Howecer, Covers are Content like a paragraph or List, they are placed always below the Post title. You may expand their width, to make them look like a Featured Image, but their position belongs to the Content.
The Query Block in the upcoming 5.8 Release will probably offer a solution for your problem. You may place a Blog Roll on every Page and the content is fully customizable!
Cheers, Benjamin
