A number of people, including myself, are reporting issues with custom shortcode/formatting/insert buttons disappearing in their Text editor when this plugin is installed. Might be time to push this issue up to the top of the heap for fixing.

    (not resolved actually)

I realize that this is a result of the way that the WP Editor is implemented, but there seems to be necessity for a solution that doesn't invasively remove the custom button functionalities that many other plugins and themes tend to include these days. It's only going to increase as more themes and plugins are developed.

    mkormendy,

The custom buttons disappear because the "default" buttons are actually being recreated by my plugin. There was no way to get them to work simultaneously with the existing buttons, unfortunately.

Currently if you want to use WP Editor, you won't be able to use the custom buttons.

Okay .. do you have this project on github? I think I want to edit the code and provide a pull request with a solution.

Basically my solution would be to use a combination of php and javascript to find all of the current buttons, both default and custom, and then regenerate all of them.

I don't currently have it on github. I have considered adding it and may do it soon, but had the opportunity yet. I'll keep you updated if I get it on there soon.

Okay, I think I will put it up on my repository. I will make my changes and you can merge what you want from what I have.
