 * The plugin is missing the changelog from the readme.txt file:

 * Validating it via:
 * [http://wordpress.org/plugins/about/validator/](http://wordpress.org/plugins/about/validator/)
 * you get for example:
 *     ```
       No == Installation == section was found
       No == Frequently Asked Questions == section was found
       No == Changelog == section was found
       ```
   
 * so you have to scan the trac, instead of easily viewing it within the wp-admin
   😉

 * Looks like this has been done now. Seems it also resolved the issue of missing
   update notications.
