Missing auxin_general_post_types_category_slug leads to PHP Fatal error

As of version 2.5.2, we are getting this error:

I am also getting something like this:

This issue is still present in latest versions. Makes this unusable:

I added this in wp-config.php:

define( 'automatic_updater_disabled', true );

I haven’t checked if the issue in this thread has since been fixed in a new version.
