Support » Fixing WordPress » Missing Appearence, Plugins, Users and Settings

  • HI, I have used WP for a while and thought that I would try to make the site a bit more interesting. But managing themes and plugins seems to require some menu items I cannot see in the Dashboard!

I have Posts, Media, Links, Pages and Comments. Then Profile and Tools.

    Can you help please??

    domain: scrummaster.no

    Thanks!

    BR Geir

Is this a self-hosted WordPress site? Or a wordpress.com site? Only you can’t install additional plugins on a wordpress.com hosted site.

Well, this is probably a self-hosted site then. I was recommended this installation by my domain host.. Does this really mean that I cannot controle Appearence or install Plugins??
Can I make it a WordPress.com site? And keep the domain name?

If it’s a self-hosted site and you have administrator status, you should see a Plugins option in the side menu.

OK, I thought I had sufficient priveliges – but I hadn’t. When I logged in as admin, Plugin, Appearence etc showed up. Thanks!
