Support » Installing WordPress » Missing all images on new install

    Hi Everybody,

I had to do a manual install of 3.1 and have everything almost there, except there are no images showing up on either the front end or the dashboard. I have changed permissions to 777 as some posts have suggested to no good effect.

The new install is in fannybaycommunity.com/wordpress – does installing it in a subdirectory have anything to do with the “missing” images? I suspect it’s an internal reference issue.

    Help!

    Thanks,
    Beth

No but check that you do not have hotlinking protection enabled on your hosting account.

I can go in and select a header – but now I’ve noticed that I don’t have the WYSIWYG editor when creating pages and posts – as well as all of the images in the dashboard are still missing.

I’ve checked the hotlinking protection – and it’s off.

    CampbellDuke,

I’ve noticed such code of some images:

    <img src=”http://fannybaycommunity.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads&#8221; align=”left” />

Make sure you’ve successfully uploaded all the wordpress files.

Also try to increase such php parameters (or ask support to do it for you ):

    1. Set upload_max_filesize to 10M or higher
    2. Set post_max_size to 10M or higher
    3. Set max_execution_time to 300

    Hi All,
We’re back up and running. This was a manual install and I found a reference somewhere directing me to hit the “upgrade” or “reinstall” function from the dashboard. I didn’t realize I could do this – and it worked!

That fixed the visual editor issue and gave me back my pictures and little icons.

    Thanks everybody.
