You can download the “free” version and backup with the free version very easily. But you can never use or test any backup you make without paying for it. They give you the impression you can restore a backup from a file import then lie about the server not allowing files that size and needing to either use They continue to say its a server restriction. I’m a Systems engineer and I built the server. There is no restriction on the server, no other plugin or app has the issue, but amazingly their backup plugin has the issue, yet its not their plugin… its the server. Eventually the support person admitted there is no way to do this for free.
They are just preying on people to install the app and then be desperate to restore data and hence pay them. There are better cheaper plugins from better companies with much better business practises. The plugin might be very good, but the company is awful with this kind of misleading business practises.

All-in-One WP Migration does not impose any upload size limit. The message you’re seeing comes entirely from your web server / hosting provider (PHP, web server, proxy, or security layer), not from WordPress and not from the plugin.

To showcase this, here is a live example of the plugin running entirely in the browser. The upload is set to 2GB by the server php configuration: https://wordpress.org/plugins/all-in-one-wp-migration/?preview=1

Here is an image that illustrates the upload path: https://help.servmask.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/upload-pathway.gif

Stop telling lies. I am a Systems engineer, it is my server and I built it. I have full admin access to everything. I have no issues importing and exporting files through other plugins. The only thing that has a file size issue is YOUR plugin. Your company is being deceptive and i won’t deal with them again.

We understand the frustration, but we are not lying.

The live demo we shared shows the plugin accepting a 2GB upload. That is the plugin running with no file size restriction. Different plugins use different upload methods, which is why the same server limit can affect one plugin but not another.

We wish you the best with whichever solution you choose.
