 * I have been struggling for weeks (literally) with this problem. On the single
post page of my WordPress site (e.g. [http://www.natmd.com/tai-chi-and-parkinsons-disease/](http://www.natmd.com/tai-chi-and-parkinsons-disease/))
I cannot get the sidebar – and now the post area element also – to align properly.
If I manually adjust the borders/margins it causes the elements on the home page
and category pages to slip upwards and sideways. I believe this might have happened
because I removed the search box and lengthened the space for the submenu, but
I cannot see where I may have made a misktake there. I am not experienced with
web design (I know, some people would say I shouldn’t mess with code then, but
I can’t help it, I prefer to learn as I go) and I am even having a hard time
understanding validation and fixing the errors I find there. Can someone come
   to the rescue?

 * You have a commercial (paid) theme so you should look to their site for support—
it’s part of what you paid for. It looks like they also have tutorials which
might be helpful as you are learning about customizing your site.

 * Re: validating pages, have you read [this](http://codex.wordpress.org/Validating_a_Website)?
Generally, validators will give you a printout showing where the errors are (
by line number) and you can then go look at the code and fix the problems.
 * But some errors are due to standards changing and the “[doctype](http://www.w3schools.com/tags/tag_doctype.asp)”
you are using or the validator being used — technicalities that mean that there
is no actual error — just that it’s not recognized as valid by the doctype you
are using. In those cases, you don’t usually need to worry about those errors.
 * On your home page, there are several markup errors (missing html tags mostly)
that might be causing problems — so check those out.

 * what happens if you re-install the original theme?
 * if your changes have caused the problem, you might need to start new with the
original, and with your increased experience, repeat the edits without errors.
 * the single template seems to be missing the #content div.
