• Hey guys!

I try to find a solution, where i can add a external post i.e. a news portal without adding any content myself.

I dont want to copy/import the content, i just want to show it in my blog category as a normal post.

    [ redundant link removed ]

    1) Load Featured Image from external url and show it as featured image of my post
    2) Load the excerpt and show it as excerpt of my post
    3) When you click on the Post you are redirected automatically to the other website target=_blank.

*) I am not looking for an RSS Aggregator, i just want specific posts shown mixed with my own posts.

Basically what every link is doing when added to facebook etc.

Cant be that hard to find, but maybe i am searching wrong.
    Any ideas?

  • Sounds like you want the Press This plugin… I use that myself a lot.

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/press-this/

Tip: Highlight a paragraph or three (just enough to add interest to the link) and Press this will try to incorporate that text when it creates the snippet and linking post.

SEO: You won’t normally have enough text in one to three short paragraphs to satisfy Yoast SEO if you are running that. Just use what you get and let the ‘chips land where they may’. SEO doesn’t need to be perfect on every post.

Optionally you can write text yourself to ensure your visitors are given enough info to follow the link if they wish.
