Minimum order and coupon code

Hello,

We use your plugin in combination with package & flexible shipping per package.
This is our setup :

– Minimum order is 35€ per order, set up with flexible shipping (if price is between 35 and 50 => Delivery cost is 3€, if price >50.01€, delivery package is free)
– So between 0€ and 34.99€, user can’t choose delivery method for his order and we show the message : “Minimum order package 35€, add more product to this order to order”
– We use coupon code to offer reduced price on order (exemple : – 20€ )

But if a customer add a coupon code of -20€, order price drops below 35€(if for exemple was 37.2€), so the minimum order price message is triggered, and user can’t choose delivery method.

Basically is there a way to fulfill our goals :
– Maintaining our order minimum price (35€)
– Being able to use coupon code (like -10€/-20€ etc…) on order without triggering the behaviour that blocks delevery if price <35€
Basically it’s working right now, unless customer use a coupon that makes is order trigger minimum price to order, so would it be possible for the flexible shipping to be calculated on the subtotal and not the global total ?

We tried different coupon code parameters (fixed amount, store credit etc…), no matter what we set, we can’t make it work with the minimum order delivery.

Let me know if i am missing something, or if this is something flexible shipping pro could fix

Hi @guygentil,

Our Flexible Shipping PRO plugin has indeed the feature allowing to ignore the price changes coming from the coupon usage:

however, I’m afraid that even using it will not result in making it all work the way you described. I believe the problem here is the snippet you are using for defining the minimum order amount uses it as a fixed value. In other words I suppose it doesn’t recognize if the cart total was higher than 35€ before applying the coupon and the minimum order amount condition was met. It simply takes the current value after the coupon is already used and checks if it matches the 35€ minimum order condition.

That’s why I believe it’s rather up to the snippet/custom code/solution you use for minimum order amount than our Flexible Shipping plugin functioning.

Please also mind that we are not the authors of package & flexible shipping per package plugin you’ve mentioned. We are not familiar with its functioning, mechanisms it uses and we cannot guarantee its compatibility with our Flexible Shipping plugin.

Thanks for your feedback,
We haven’t add any snippet for the minimum order, just set up the flexible shippings of all our zones to price higher than 35€
As you can see here :

So basically under 35€, it’s the default Woocommerce alert that is triggered : “No shipping method found etc…”
We’ve just changed the content of the message displayed.
flexible shipping per package plugin & other package plugins should work with your free plugin, don’t know for the pro version. I am asking that to the dev team of the package plugins.

Thank you for your reply and more detailed explanation. It looks like I slightly misunderstood what you meant previously.

I’m afraid that unfortunately even using the PRO version won’t help in such case at the moment. It indeed has the Coupons discounts option in-built allowing to ignore the price changes coming e.g. from the coupons, however, it applies only to the free shipping threshold. In order to make it work in your case, the same mechanism should be also applied to the standard shipping cost calculation rules.

To be honest, it sounds like a quite useful feature to implement and I’ve already put it on our ‘features requests’ list and notified our dev team about it. I’ll keep you updated on this matter, let you know when we get the things moving forward and the update containing this feature is released.
