The first thing you will need to do is make a child theme – Codex: Child theme

or use a CSS plugin such as this one http://wordpress.org/plugins/simple-custom-css/ or jetpack.

The try to set the size of the sub-menu like so:
```
.main-navigation ul.sub-menu li a {
	font-size: 11px;
}
```

It’s not longer working even while typing it into the CSS plugin.
Now, I made a child theme. But where do I have to insert it?

If you made a child theme, then you insert your new CSS in the style.css of your child theme.
