 * Everything had been working fine till yesterday but today I discovered that scripts/
css were not being combined, and found minification disabled in settings. I have
tried enabling it several times, but it automatically gets disabled.

 * I tried restoring default settings, I got this:
    W3 Total Cache: Default settings
are in use. The configuration file could not be read or doesn’t exist. Please
save the settings to create the file.
 * and I get this message even after saving the settings.
 * Edit: I was able to get it to work after reinstalling the plugin.

 * Sorry for so many posts.
 * I was able to enable minification by importing configuration from another site,
   but I got this: [http://i.imgur.com/xVOe3jV.png](http://i.imgur.com/xVOe3jV.png)
   and site appears messed up.
 * I also tried setting file name length to a lower number (200) but it didn’t work.
Other than that, Set expires header setting has been disabled everywhere.

 * By reading that, it seems the root cause would be filename length is too long
for your server hosting and being blocked (this is normally done for security
   reasons on some hosts).
 * You could try disabling ‘Rewrite URL structure’ under the Minify options and
checking if that helps? As that would give you a shorten folder structure to
   call from.

 * Minification seems to work with this, but all minified files have query strings.
Would this be problematic for caching?

 * Certain proxies are not able to cache query strings so go into your browser settings
tab and make sure to uncheck any option regarding query strings.
